Slack

Ok so I have been a slack basard and not posted anything. Opps. My bad. Alot has been going on, and not a whole lot that has been good and thats my excuse.

My grandmother passed away, and my mother lost the plot (I say that nicely). Totally understandable, however, wreaker havoc with me.

Added to that, she was hospitalised so all in all the whole last few weeks have been traumatic to say the least.

But I'm not here for sympathy.

Apart from that, I have the wonderful 2 year wedding anniversary to look forward to this Monday night. 2 years since our wedding and damn time flies! Don't think we will be doing much as it is a school night and hubby gets up at 4am (poor sod).

I am looking forward to it. It just blows me away at quickly time flies - serisously. I still remember our wedding like it was yesterday (and I am sure many others feel the same). I wish I could do it all over again.

Needless to say, I secretly hope that my hubby sends flowers to my work! The probailty of this happeneing is most likely bucklys and none, but I can still secretly wish :)  I think he either a) wont think of it or b) think of it and forget or c) won't agree to having flowers delivered to a place where I Just started working (like that will get me into trouble or something?)

Who knows.

I have no idea what to do for him. I think it will just be nice to go to dinner (is that lame?) Its late and I cant really think of what we can do - on a school night too. I suck when I dont get enough sleep!

Apart from that, not much else to add. The same mozzie has been biting me for the last 2 hours and I prob look like I have the chicken pox by now!

I watched Julie and Julia tonight and enjoyed it. The fact that it was set in Paris helped. Not to mention the food. I want to try and make the chocolate cake in the movie. It looked delicious and I'm sure my hubby wouldnt object.

At least that movie was better than Crank 2! I get the idea and it was a good story line, BUT too far fetched and a little ridicoulous. I hate when I watch something and its 2 hours of my life I wont get back. Ahh you get that. Similar to The Green mist or something with Tommy Lee Jones. Which was also dissapoting and I usually always like Tommy Lee Jones movies. Went to the video store tonight and really couldnt see anything worth spending $6 on. Not that I am a tight arse but why waste it when I know the movie is going to suck? Whats the point?

Havent made up my mind abuot Couples Retreat yet. I heard it got bad reviews but then again I never really agree with critics anyway. I will have to see if anyone has seen it.

& now I'm rambling. So its good night from me.

Random Thoughts

Ok so some more random things about me:

I have had this conversation with several people and I just don't undertand how they believe that pineaplle actually belongs on a pizza? Take a surpreme for eg. Everything on the pizza is salty, except for the pineapple. It stands alone. It just doesn't work. And for those that love ham and pineapple, I have some bad news for you: Ham and pineapple is not a pizza! It's a lazy mans pizza who couldnt be bothered to add the rest of the topping. So I say No to pineapple on pizza. I wonder how many others share my thoughts on this?

Now who could resist this?

I think the only way pineapple should be consumed is in the form of an alcoholic drink! Such as a Malibu and Pineapple:

Recipe as follows:

2 oz Malibu Coconut Rum

Fill glass(es) Pineapple Juice


Stir Malibu and Pineapple juice together. Malibu adds a coconut flavor, making for a pleasant Pina Colada-like drink.

Yummo! But a small warning: These are a little like long island ice teas, you can keep drinking them and then they hit you like a tonne of bricks! So be careful.

Ok So I am now doing paperwork for my hubby and while waiting... I wish I wish I wish I could have this....  I can dream can't I? Well okay it doesn't HAVE to be THIS big.... what about a 1.3 ct? :)  Yea yea I know I'm dreaming...

Birthday Was A Success!

Well what can I say? It all went well. The brushetta was eaten in less than 7 minutes and when the first home made pizzas came out the whole room went quiet! All you could hear was chewing. So funny. The birthday cake was last and went down a treat too! It was the first time and the last time I will make a cake though...6 hours! I had to bake 3 separate cakes, which took an hour each, then make the fresh chocolate ganache which went in between all the layers, then make the buttercream and then decorate! Now I know why I stick to cupcakes : )

All in all it was a happily celebrated birthday.

It's My Birthday Today!

Ok So I share my birthday with Elvis Presley, David Bowie and I can't remember the last one! So I woke up still feeling a little down, but slowly I'm getting more excited about my birthday celebrations tomorrow! I made dessert for the party - home made chocolate ice cream using 3 different types of chocolates. It tastes sooooo good! My hubby sure liked it. Had to shoo him away from it LOL

Well....here's to Dessert Number 2. I am attempting to make (for the very first time) a double layered white cake with chocolate ganache in between the layers. Here goes.....
